How to activate your ‘1 year free tourer insurance’
It is your responsibility to activate your ‘1 year free tourer insurance’ with Caravan Guard prior to collecting your caravan.
To activate, telephone Caravan Guard on 08452 705 644 (Open 7 days 8am - 8pm Weekdays, 9am - 4pm weekends).
When calling Caravan Guard please state you are claiming your ‘1 year free insurance policy’ from the dealership you are
buying from. You will need to quote your surname and postcode. Please also have to hand your planned collection date,
planned storage address, the make and model of your caravan and the CRIS or chassis number.

Brief summary of ‘1 year free tourer insurance’

  •   £100 excess (500 winter weather excess applies for unprotected / unsupervised storage).

Optional Extras
Your ‘1 year free tourer insurance’ cover is for the caravan only.
If equipment and / or personal effects cover is required, your policy can be extended to include this. Cover is payable by you
(the customer), using a credit or debit card, at a rate of 10 (inclusive of insurance premium tax) per 500. e.g. 3000
additional cover would cost 60, 1500 would cost 30.

Security and Storage Terms and Conditions
• All caravans must have a proprietary wheel clamp (covering at least one wheel nut) OR an axle locking device e.g. ALKO
/ Bulldog fitted whenever the caravan is unattended and detached from the tow car.
• All caravans must have a proprietary hitchlock fitted whenever the caravan is unattended and detached from the tow car.
• Where the total sum insured (i.e. the value of the caravan, it’s equipment and personal effects) exceeds 17,000 for
single axles and 14,000 for twin axle caravans, a tracking device must be fitted within 28 days of collection of
the caravan.

• Security must meet Caravan Guard’s standard security requirements. Caravan Guard may require the fitment of
additional security to the caravan. This will be discussed with you when arranging your ‘1 year free insurance’ policy.
Customers will have 28 days from the policy inception date to arrange and fit additional security required. Failure to meet
Caravan Guard’s security requirements will invalidate your ‘1 year free tourer insurance’.
• The caravan must be stored in a location acceptable to Caravan Guard for ‘1 year free tourer insurance’ to be effective.


Terms and conditions:

• The caravan can be used for Social, Domestic & Pleasure purposes only.
• The caravan can be used as a residency for up to 6 months in a policy year.
• The caravan must be under 21 years of age (on the policy inception date)
• The caravan must not exceed 20,000 total sums insured (including equipment and personal effects).
• The caravan must be stored in the UK.
• The policyholder must be a UK resident with a UK correspondence address.
• No cash alternative is available.
• No refunds will be given if the policy is cancelled within the ‘1 year free insurance’ period.
• Cover is not transferable to any other person or any other caravan.
• The ‘1 Year free tourer insurance’ is subject to Caravan Guard’s standard terms and conditions, cover level and underwriting criteria.      It is also subject to advance payment of the premium by your dealer.
• The caravan must be owned and registered in the name of the Policyholder, or in the name of the Policyholder’s Spouse,

or in the name of the Policyholder’s Common Law Partner, or in both names of the Policyholder and the Policyholder’s
Spouse / Common Law Partner, if the caravan is jointly owned. Policies in the name of a company are unacceptable.

Duty of Disclosure:
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out a policy,
throughout the life of your policy and when you renew it. It is important that any statement you make in any telephone call or
correspondence, on any claim form or other documentation are full and accurate. Please note that if you fail to disclose any material
information or changes in circumstances to your insurers, this could invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid. You should keep copies of all correspondence in connection with this insurance.
Complaints procedure:
If you have a complaint please contact Caravan Guard 08452 705 644 in the first instance. In the unlikely
event that your claim remains unresolved after a full investigation it will be possible for you to refer your complaint to the Financial
Ombudsman Service.
